Saturday #5

You must either modify your dreams or magnify your skills.

You must remain focused on your journey to greatness.

You only have to do very few things right in your life so long as you don’t do too many things wrong.

You shouldn’t focus on why you can’t do something, which is what most people do. You should focus on why perhaps you can, and be one of the exceptions.

You were born to win. But to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win.

You’ve got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough, I can have it. It’s called perseverance.

Your life does not get better by chance. It gets better by change.

Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.

Your reputation is more important than your paycheck, and your integrity is worth more than your career.

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.

Saturday #4

You can fool all the people all the time if the advertising is right and the budget is big enough.

You can’t make anything viral, but you can make something good.

You cannot clap with one hand.

You don’t learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing and falling over.

You don’t need to have a 100-person company to develop that idea.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself, any direction you choose.

You jump off a cliff and you assemble an airplane on the way down.

You just have to pay attention to what people need and what has not been done.

You must be the change you wish to see in the world.

You must do the things you thinks you cannot do.

Saturday #3

Whoever sincerely does, will get. - Man Jadda Wajada.

Why did I want to win? Because I didn’t want to lose!

Winners are not people who never fail, but people who never quit.

Winners take time to relish their work, knowing that scaling the mountain is what makes the view from the top so exhilarating.

Wishing does not make a poor man rich.

With self-discipline most anything is possible.

Wonder what your customer really wants? Ask. Don’t tell.

Yesterday’s home runs don’t win today’s games.

You are not your resume, you are your work.

Saturday #2

We cannot help everyone, but everyone can help someone.

We know what we are, but know not what we may be.

We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.

What do you need to start a business? Three simple things: know your product better than anyone. Know your customer, and have a burning desire to succeed.

When I’m old and dying, I plan to look back on my life and say ‘wow, that was an adventure,’ not ‘wow, I sure felt safe.

When you find an idea that you just can’t stop thinking about, that’s probably a good one to pursue.

Where there is an open mind, there will always be a frontier.

Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right!

Who likes not his business, his business likes not him.

Saturday #1

To waken interest and kindle enthusiasm is the sure way to teach easily and successfully.

To win without risk is to triumph without glory.

Trust your instincts.

Try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value.

Turn a perceived risk into an asset.

Unity is power.

Wake up every morning with the thought that something wonderful is about to happen.

We are currently not planning on conquering the world.

We are really competing against ourselves, we have no control over how other people perform.

Friday #5

Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out.

Time is like a sword. If you do not cut, it cuts you.

Time is made of gold.

Timing, perseverance, and ten years of trying will eventually make you look like an overnight success.

To be successful, you have to have your heart in your business, and your business in your heart.

To succeed in business, to reach the top, an individual must know all it is possible to know about that business.

To succeed, you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you.

To the degree we’re not living our dreams; our comfort zone has more control of us than we have over ourselves.

To think creatively, we must be able to look afresh at what we normally take for granted.

To think is easy. To act is difficult. To act as one thinks is the most difficult.

Friday #4

The worst part of success is to try to find someone who is happy for you.

Theory is splendid but until put into practice, it is valueless.

There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hardwork, and learning from failure.

There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.

There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle, or the mirror that reflects it.

There is always tomorrow.

There is no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs.

There is no royal, flower-strewn path to success. And if there is, I have not found it. For if I have accomplished anything in life, it is because I have been willing to work hard.

There’s lots of bad reasons to start a company. But there’s only one good, legitimate reason, and I think you know what it is: it’s to change the world.

There’s nothing wrong with staying small. You can do big things with a small team.

Friday #3

The only way to do great work is to love what you do.

The problem with the rat race is that even if you win, you are still a rat.

The secret to successful hiring is this: look for the people who want to change the world.

The smarter you are, the less you speak.

The starting point of all achievement is desire.

The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.

The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.

The value of an idea lies in the using of it.

The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.

Friday #2

The most serious mistakes are not being made as a result of wrong answers. The truly dangerous thing is asking the wrong question.

The new source of power is not money in the hands of a few, but information in the hands of many.

The No. 1 reason people fail in life is because they listen to their friends, family, and neighbors.

The noblest search is the search for excellence.

The ones who say you cannot and you will not are probably the ones scared that you will.

The only limits are, as always, those of vision.

The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.

The only thing worse than starting something and failing, is not starting something.

The only way around is through.

Friday #1

The good or ill of a man lies within his own will.

The great accomplishments of man have resulted from the transmission of ideas of enthusiasm.

The great leaders are like the best conductors – they reach beyond the notes to reach the magic in the players.

The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.

The important thing is not being afraid to take a chance. Remember, the greatest failure is to not try. Once you find something you love to do, be the best at doing it.

The last 10% it takes to launch something takes as much energy as the first 90%.

The man who will use his skill and constructive imagination to see how much he can give for a dollar, instead of how little he can give for a dollar, is bound to succeed.

The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.

The most dangerous poison is the feeling of achievement. The antidote is to every evening think what can be done better tomorrow.

Thursday #5

The competitor to be feared is one who never bothers about you at all, but goes on making his own business better all the time.

The desire of knowledge, like the thirst for riches, increases ever with the acquisition of it.

The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.

The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.

The enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth-persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

The entrepreneur always searches for change, responds to it, and exploits it as an opportunity.

The expectations of life depend upon diligence; the mechanic that would perfect his work must first sharpen his tools.

The fastest way to change yourself is to hang out with people who are already the way you want to be.

The first one gets the oyster; the second gets the shell.

The golden rule for every business man is this: “Put yourself in your customer’s place.”

Thursday #4

Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.

Successful people are the ones who are breaking the rules.

Surviving a failure gives you more self-confidence. Failures are great learning tools, but they must be kept to a minimum.

Sustaining a successful business is a hell of a lot of work, and staying hungry is half the battle.

The absolute fundamental aim is to make money out of satisfying customers.

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.

The best answer will come from the person who is not angry.

The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.

The best revenge is massive success.

The best way out is always through.

Thursday #3

Stop waiting for things to happen. Go out and make them happen.

Stop wishing. Start doing.

Strive for progress, not perfection.

Success in business requires training, discipline, & hardwork.

Success is how high you bounce when you hit the bottom.

Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.

Success is often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable.

Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out.

Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.

Thursday #2

So often people are working hard at the wrong thing. Working on the right thing is probably more important than working hard.

Sometimes when you innovate, you make mistakes. It is best to admit them quickly and get on with improving your other innovations.

Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.

Spending today complaining about yesterday will not make tomorrow any better.

Start by doing what is necessary; then do what is possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

Stay self-funded as long as possible.

Stop chasing the money and start chasing the passion.

Stop dreaming, start doing.

Thursday #1

People are best convinced by things they themselves discover.

People rarely buy what they need. They buy what they want.

Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

Put your heart, mind, and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the secret of success.

Quality means doing it right when no one is looking.

Remind yourself that it is okay not to be perfect.

Risk more than others think is safe. Dream more than others think is practical.

See things in the present, even if they are in the future.

Silence is better than bullshit.

Wednesday #5

Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid altogether.

Never stop doing your best just because someone does not give you credit.

No matter how brilliant your mind or strategy, if you’re playing a solo game, you’ll always lose out to a team.

No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.

No more romanticizing about how cool it is to be an entrepreneur. It’s a struggle to save your company’s life – and your own skin – every day of the week.

Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs.

Nothing works better than just improving your product.

Opportunities do not happen. You create them.

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up.

Wednesday #4

Memories of our lives, of our works and our deeds will continue in others.

Mistakes are proof that you are trying.

Money is like gasoline during a road trip. You don’t want to run out of gas on your trip, but you’re not doing a tour of gas stations.

Motivation is the art of getting people to do what you want them to do because they want to do it.

Motivation is what gets you started. Habits is what keeps you going.

My life. My choices. My mistakes. My lessons. Not your business.

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.

My son is now an ‘entrepreneur’. That’s what you’re called when you don’t have a job.

Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.

Never let success get your head and never let failure get to your heart.

Wednesday #3

Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.

Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.

Life is too complicated not to be orderly.

Live daringly, boldly, fearlessly. Taste the relish to be found in competition – in having put forth the best within you.

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.

Long-range planning works best in the short term.

Losers quit when they fail. Winners fail until they succeed.

Make every detail perfect and limit the number of details to perfect.

Management is nothing more than motivating other people.

Wednesday #2

It’s not that we need new ideas, but we need to stop having old ideas.

It’s through curiosity and looking at opportunities in new ways that we’ve always mapped our path at Dell. There’s always an opportunity to make a difference.

Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you.

Lack of intelligence is the greatest poverty.

Leadership is a potent combination of strategy and character. But if you must be without one, be without the strategy.

Leadership is doing what is right when no one is watching.

Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it.

Let every man be respected as an individual and no man idolized.

Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness.

Wednesday #1

It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop.

It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.

It is not about being the best. It is about being better than you were yesterday.

It is not about ideas. It is about making ideas happen.

It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.

It takes months to find a customer. Seconds to lose them.

It’s hard to do a really good job on anything you don’t think about in the shower.

It’s more effective to do something valuable than to hope a logo or name will say it for you.

It’s not about ideas. It’s about making ideas happen.

Tuesday #5

If you work just for money, you’ll never make it, but if you love what you’re doing and you always put the customer first, success will be yours.

If you’re going to put your product in beta – put your business model in beta with it.

If you’re interested in the living heart of what you do, focus on building things rather than talking about them.

If you’re not a risk taker, you should get the hell out of business.

If you’re passionate about something and you work hard, then I think you will be successful.

In the business world, everyone is paid in two coins: cash and experience. Take the experience first; the cash will come later.

In the end, a vision without the ability to execute it is probably a hallucination.

In the end, we only regret the chances we did not take.

Industry is the soul of business and the keystone of prosperity.

Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings.

Tuesday #4

If you cannot explain it simply, you do not understand it well enough.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at will change.

If you define yourself by how you differ from the competition, you’re probably in trouble.

If you did not look after today’s business, then you might as well forget about tomorrow.

If you do not have a competitive advantage, do not compete.

If you do not make things happen then things will happen to you.

If you just work on stuff that you like and you’re passionate about, you don’t have to have a master plan with how things will play out.

If you really want to do something, you will find a way. If you do not, you will find an excuse.

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go with others.

If you want to make a permanent change, stop focusing on the size of your problems and start focusing on the size of you.

Tuesday #3

If you are always trying to be NORMAL, you will never now how AMAZING you can be.

If you are charitable, you are rich.

If you are not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you’ve launched too late.

If you are unable to reward, then make sure to thank.

If you are waiting for a sign, this is it.

If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride -and never quit, you will be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards.

If you can’t feed a team with two pizzas, it’s too large.

If you cannot describe what you are doing as a process, you do not know what you are doing.

If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.

Tuesday #2

I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars.

Ideas are commodity. Execution of them is not.

Ideas are easy. Implementation is hard.

If it does not challenge you, it will not change you.

If opportunity does not knock, build a door.

If plan A did not work, the alphabet has 25 more letters. Stay cool.

If the plan does not work, change the plan, not the goal.

If there is such a thing as good leadership, it is to give a good example.

If there’s something you want to build, but the tech isn’t there yet, just find the closest possible way to make it happen.

Tuesday #1

I doubt I’ll ever go back to corporate work. Once you see the light, there is no turning back.

I feel that luck is preparation meeting opportunity.

I had to make my own living and my own opportunity! But I made it! Don’t sit down and wait for the opportunities to come. Get up and make them!

I knew that if I failed I wouldn’t regret that, but I knew the one thing I might regret is not trying.

I like thinking big. If you’re going to be thinking anything, you might as well think big.

I like to pride myself on thinking pretty long term, but not that long term.

I never took a day off in my twenties. Not one.

I try not to make any decisions that I’m not excited about.

I wasn’t satisfied just to earn a good living. I was looking to make a statement.

Monday #5

Handle your business without people knowing your business.

Have a very good reason for everything you do.

Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.

High expectations are the key to everything.

Hire character. Train skill.

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.

I cannot change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.

I don’t look to jump over 7-foot bars — I look for 1-foot bars that I can step over.

I don’t pay good wages because I have a lot of money; I have a lot of money because I pay good wages.

I don’t think an economic slump will hurt good ideas.

Monday #4

Fail often so you can succeed sooner.

Fall seven times, stand up eight.

Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.

Fearlessness is like a muscle. I know from my own life that the more I exercise it the more natural it becomes to not let my fears run me.

Forget past mistakes. Forget failures. Forget everything except what you are going to do now and do it.

Fortunes are built during the down market and collected in the up market.

Get a mentor in the applicable field if you’re at all unsure of what you’re looking for.

Get big quietly, so you don’t tip off potential competitors.

Get five or six of your smartest friends in a room and ask them to rate your idea.

Good design is good business.

Monday #3

Entrepreneurs are willing to work 80 hours a week to avoid working 40 hours a week.

Even if you don’t have the perfect idea to begin with, you can likely adapt.

Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.

Every day that we spent not improving our products was a wasted day.

Every time we launch a feature, people yell at us.

Everyday is a second chance.

Everyone is critical of the flaws of others, but blind to their own.

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.

Experimentation is the greatest science.

Monday #2

Don’t play games that you don’t understand, even if you see lots of other people making money from them.

Don’t try to be original, just try to be good.

Don’t worry about failure; you only have to be right once.

Don’t worry about funding if you don’t need it. Today it’s cheaper to start a business than ever.

Don’t worry about people stealing your design work. Worry about the day they stop.

Dream big and dare to fail.

Dreams do not work unless you do.

Embrace what you don’t know, especially in the beginning, because what you don’t know can become your greatest asset. It ensures that you will absolutely be doing things different from everybody else.

Entrepreneur is someone who has a vision for something and a want to create.

Monday #1

Do not give up. The beginning is always the hardest.

Do not judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant.

Do not judge my choices without understanding my reasons.

Do not the fear of losing be greater that the excitement of winning.

Do not wait for the perfect moment. Take the moment and make it perfect.

Do something today that your future self will thank you for.

Don’t be afraid to assert yourself, have confidence in your abilities and don’t let the bastards get you down.

Don’t be cocky. Don’t be flashy. There’s always someone better than you.

Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve.

Sunday #5

Business is the salt of life.

Business opportunities are like buses: there’s always another one coming.

Change is not a threat, it is an opportunity. Survival is not the goal, transformative success is.

Change your thoughts and you change your world.

Chase the vision, not the money, the money will end up following you.

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.

Create. Work. Inspire.

Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.

Diligence is the mother of good luck.

Do not be afraid to make misteaks.

Sunday #4

Be so good. They cannot ignore you.

Be undeniably good. No marketing effort or social media buzzword can be a substitute for that.

Before dreaming about the future or marking plans, you need to articulate what you already have going for you – as entrepreneurs do.

Behold the turtle, he makes progress only when he sticks his neck out.

Being able to touch so many people through my businesses, and make money while doing it, is a huge blessing.

Believe you can and you are halfway there.

Best startups generally come from somebody needing to scratch an itch.

Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs.

Business is a combination of war and sport.

Business is more exciting than any game.

Sunday #3

Always look for the fool in the deal. If you don’t find one, it’s you.

An invention that is quickly accepted will turn out to be a rather trivial alteration of something that has already existed.

Anger begins with madness, but ends in regret.

Anything that is measured and watched, improves.

Appreciate everything that you have.

As long as you’re going to be thinking anyway, think big.

Ask your purse what you should buy.

Be content to act, and leave the talking to others.

Be patient and you will get what you want.

Sunday #2

Action is the foundational key to all success.

Actions speak louder than words.

All humans are entrepreneurs not because they should start companies but because the will to create is encoded in human DNA.

All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.

All progress takes place outside the comfort zone.

Always believe in yourself, even when others do not.

Always deliver more than expected.

Always forgive your enemies. Nothing annoys them more.

Always laugh when you can. It is a cheap medicine.

Sunday #1

A business has to be involving, it has to be fun, and it has to exercise your creative instincts.

A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business.

A calm sea does not make a skilled sailor.

A goal without a plan is just a wish.

A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.

A man should never neglect his family for business.
